77 BOMBAY STREET

SATURDAY, 19 OCTOBER

Ten years after the release of their debut album “Up In The Sky” and after a break of several years, 77 Bombay Street are back with new music. Although the album “Start Over” (October 2021) picks up musically where the Grisons band left off in 2017 after the hit “Empire” and the subsequent nomination for a Swiss Music Award, it is probably their most personal work to date. “Start Over” therefore marks a comeback and a new start at the same time.

“We needed the break to get some distance from the music and the band,” says lead singer Matt Buchli. However, when they rehearsed together, they realized that they really missed being musicians, that it meant a lot to them and gave them just as much. Because ultimately they belong on stage, together, the four of them. The four brothers have been making music together since childhood and it is an almost physical need for them to celebrate their music together. And now they are eager to animate their audience to sing and dance along once again, to get up close and personal with them and to put smiles on the faces of even the back rows. The irrepressible desire to spread good vibes and gain the undivided attention of the audience – 77 Bombay Street have learned this over the years and have made them one of the best live bands in Switzerland. And precisely because the four brothers have missed the stage and contact with their audience so much, they will be celebrating the new songs together with their well-known hits on an extensive tour throughout Switzerland.

Incidentally, there’s something else new about 77 Bombay Street’s “Start Over” – albeit familiar to fans: their uniforms! After shedding their trademark for their third album, the band now want to return to the stage in the uniforms designed and produced by their mother. A new beginning, like at the very start of their career in 2008, when four brothers from Scharans GR made the Swiss music scene sit up and take notice.
